Practice Time
Expectations:
Every morning practice will begin at 7:00 am and ends around 8:00 am, excluding meet days. If there is any change to the practice or meet schedule, athletes and parents will be notified with as much advance notice as possible. All information will be sent out through Remind.
Both boys and girls athletic locker rooms will open at 6:45 am for students who need to put their school items such as backpacks, lunches, etc in their lockers.
Practice Schedule:
7:00 - 7:10 am - Team stretches
7:15 - 8:00 am - Cross Country Work Out (45 min)
Monday - Long Run (3 miles)
Tuesday - Pace Run (2 miles)
Wednesday - Meet Day (No Practice)
Thursday - Recovery/Stretch (1 mile)
Friday - Test sets/Qualification Day(2 mile Race pace)
8:00 - 8:20 am - Getting dress and ready for school.
- 7th grade runners will be ready to attend work out with off season during the class period.
- 8th grade runners will be able to use the remaining time before school to prepare for their day.
*Bad weather days - practice will still continue and will be held in the cafeteria.
*On meet days, students who does not qualify regarding time on Friday, will not attend the meet. They will come to practice the next day.

Qualification
*All races will be 2 miles except for the first race of 1 mile.
*Fridays will be our qualification day. Students will be timed running 2 miles.
*Students that reaches the qualifying time given for each gender/grade level will attend to Wednesday's meet.

Practice Expectations
- An athlete that is not in volleyball or football must attend practices each week. No more than 2 practices a week can be missed to be eligible to attend a meet.
- If there is a scheduling conflict for practices or meets, please let the coaches know ASAP.
- Exceptions will be made for athletes that are on the football and volleyball teams.
Helpful Tips
- Bring plenty of water to drink for practice and meets.
- Don’t eat anything heavy before morning practice and meets. No milk! A light snack before practice and meets is encouraged (toast, power bar, etc.). Bring a snack and extra water for after practice.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day! The temperature will most likely be very HOT.
- Get plenty of rest.
